About Mind Over Legal Matter ®
Welcome to Mind Over Legal Matter®, where you will read about how to find your peace in the frenetic legal profession. It IS possible!
I have been tutoring for the Florida portion of the bar exam since 2013 and have had great success with students. I have also tutored students with great success taking the UBE exam; including recent states that have switched to UBE such as New York. Since 2012, I have also been a grader for practice Florida essays and UBE essays for several law schools as well as a reputable commercial company.
I received my undergraduate degree at UCLA and shortly after continued onto graduate school to finish my Masters in Education at UCLA as well. I became an educator and loved every minute of it! However, little did I know that a big change was coming! My husband was offered an employment opportunity in Florida and we decided to move to Orlando for the next chapter in our lives.
After moving to Florida with my husband in 2003, I decided to pursue my other passion of law and attend law school at Barry University School of Law located in Orlando, Florida. I took the Florida bar exam in 2008 and passed the first time. As an attorney, I practiced as an Assistant Public Defender upholding every individual’s Constitutional rights as well as a former litigator in a prestigious civil litigation firm.
After awhile, I felt the urge to teach again and began teaching at a local law school, primarily focusing on essay writing for the Florida Bar Exam. During this time I also taught an essay course geared towards students taking bar exams in other states which is how I became familiar with the UBE. As a result, I began tutoring students on how to conquer the UBE.
I now offer individual tutoring sessions where we will focus on test-taking strategies and identify your strengths and weaknesses in essay writing and multiple choice questions.
