So the Bar Exam is over and let me guess… feel like you did not pass, right?

In fact, you’ve already booked your hotel for next year because you are so confident that you missed several questions on the MBE. You are agonizing over what issues you missed on the essays and what Samantha or Andrew wrote on their essays, that you did not. However, you have no control over what has already happened.

Here’s an idea.

Focus on what you can control right now. Here are three simple things you can do to focus on the positive aspects of your life.

#3 – Go to the Beach

If you live less than 2 hours away from the beach, this is something you should head over to right now!

Go to the beach and go barefoot in the sand, get grounded. “Grounding” is connecting with the earth’s natural healing energy. Stare at the ocean and tell it all of your problems, including all of your worries about the bar exam. Breathe in the salty air, listen to the sea gulls, and watch the waves crash. Go several minutes without looking at your phone. This is called “self-care” for your mind, body, and spirit.

#2 – Binge on Netflix (or any online entertainment network)

When is the last time you caught up on all the shows that everyone else (non bar-takers) talks about? There are plenty of shows to choose from!

But before you decide, how about you pick one that will uplift you? When is the last time you laughed so hard your belly hurt? Or how about the last time you heard or saw something that inspired you?

There is no documentary better than the one I am about to share with you. You need something that is going to thrust you forward into a sea of positivity and possibility. Who can help you do that better than Tony Robbins?

#1 — Read a book

Yes. You heard right.

I know what you’re thinking. I just READ so much, my brain actually hurts. Yes, but you were reading rules and memorizing an enormous amount of law that you will never again see in practice.

When is the last time you actually picked up something you wanted to read? Even if it is a magazine, go for it and get lost in a book. I know you all like reading, deep down inside, otherwise you would have never signed up for law school!
